ALAMEDA: Women of Industry Collection

Named for the Naval Air Station, “Alameda,” where many women worked as aircraft assemblers during World War II, this collection is a tribute to the bad ass women who entered the industrial workforce during this era to help replace the male labor.

The leather texture in this collection was created from a vintage welding glove that was worn on the production line.  The beautifully detailed, tough, worn and resilient nature of each piece captures the spirit of these women.

Although they have long since put down their rivet guns, welding torches, and hammers, their stories inspire power, grit and determination in generations of women till this day.
